Booster clubs are some of the most frequent banner buyers. Whether it's a run-through banner needed before Friday night's game or a batch of senior yard signs before graduation, school printing in the Springfield area means tight deadlines, specific requirements, and zero room for error when the stands are full.
Here's what we've learned actually matters when you're ordering for a booster club, PTO, or athletic program.
Run-Through Banners: The Details That Matter
Every booster club asks for the same thing: a banner their players can run through without it turning into a tangled mess. The secret isn't the material—it's the perforation pattern.
We use a vertical perforation down the center, spaced 2 inches apart, stopping 6 inches from the top and bottom. This creates a clean tear every time while keeping the banner intact enough to reuse 3-4 games if you're careful rolling it up.
What we recommend: 13oz scrim vinyl, not mesh. Mesh tears unpredictably. The 13oz gives you that satisfying pop when players break through. For scoreboard banners that stay up all season and take direct sun, we bump up to 18oz for better fade resistance.
Fence Banners for Outdoor Stadiums
Chain-link fences at most stadiums have similar diamond-shaped openings, which matters because your grommet spacing needs to account for it—we place grommets every 18 inches and include zip ties rated for outdoor use.
One thing most vendors miss: wind load. Fence lines that funnel wind between the home and visitor stands put extra stress on banners in that section. For those spots, we recommend mesh material with reinforced hems instead of solid vinyl.
Senior Night Banners
These are emotional orders. Parents want them perfect. Always get the jersey number AND the years on the team (not just senior year)—many programs now display all four years of participation as a tradition.
Standard size: 2x6 feet works for most gym displays. For outdoor sports, go 2x8 so they're visible from the stands.
Pro tip: Order a test print of one banner first if you're doing a batch. Catching a photo or name mistake on the proof saves an expensive reprint.
Graduation Banners and Senior Yard Signs
Many schools order individual senior yard signs for the entrance or for families to display at home. A popular layout includes the student's photo, name, college/career plans, and school logo on 18x24 inch coroplast.
Rush Orders
Schools often call for last-minute needs. If a booster club needs a "District Champions" banner by tomorrow, call us—qualifying rush orders are available for an additional fee.
