Whether you are coaching little league baseball at Springfield Sports Complex, running a travel soccer team, or organizing spirit wear for your Springfield-area high schooler, custom team t-shirts and apparel bring your group together. Here is everything you need to know about ordering custom shirts for your Springfield sports team.
Step 1: Determine Your Needs
What Type of Apparel?
- Practice shirts - Durable tees for daily wear
- Game day spirit wear - For fans and parents
- Team uniforms - Official jerseys with numbers
- Tournament shirts - Special event commemorative shirts
- Hoodies/sweatshirts - For cooler weather
Collect Sizes
Create a size chart for your team:
- Youth sizes: YS, YM, YL, YXL
- Adult sizes: S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL
- Always order a few extras for late additions
- Consider ordering samples to try on before committing
Step 2: Design Your Shirts
Essential Design Elements
- Team name and logo
- Player names and numbers (if applicable)
- Season year
- League or association logo (check requirements)
- Sponsor logos (if applicable)
Design Tips
- Keep it simple - 2-3 colors print best
- Provide high-resolution artwork (vector files preferred)
- Consider front and back printing
- Match your team colors
Step 3: Choose Your Print Method
Screen Printing
Best for teams ordering 12+ shirts:
- Most cost-effective for bulk orders
- Vibrant, durable prints
- Works best with 1-4 colors
- Long-lasting through many washes
Direct-to-Garment (DTG)
Better for smaller orders or complex designs:
- No minimum order requirements
- Full-color photo-quality printing
- Good for personalized items
Step 4: Set Your Timeline
Plan ahead for the best results:
- Standard orders: 2-3 weeks from approval
- Rush orders: 1 week (additional fees apply)
